Again this hockey season, Clinton Youth Hockey will be partnering with the Hamilton College Men’s Hockey team for the annual “Breaking Bread” program. This is a mentoring program for our youth players and their families, where you are paired with a few of the Hamilton players for the entirety of the season.
The program kicks off with a meet-and-greet dinner on Sunday, November 4th at Alteri’s, where the CYH players and their families are introduced to the Hamilton players whom will serve as their mentors for the season. These players will become part of your larger family over the course of the season, and your interaction with them is what you make of it – you might open your home to them, inviting them over for dinner or to socialize; they will attend your child’s games and practices as their schedules permit; and you and your family will attend their games at Hamilton College based on your availability. Towards the end of the season, we will hold a reception at Hamilton College for all CYH host families, the Hamilton team and Coaching staff, and the Hamilton parents.
This program has been very successful in years past, and is a great way to integrate the college program with our youth hockey program, and vice versa. These young men are attending one of the leading educational institutions in the country, in addition to competing in one of the top D3 collegiate hockey conferences in the nation – what better role model could there possibly be for your child?
If you are interested in serving as a host family this season, please respond to Brian Grady (firstname.lastname@example.org or 315-525-0263) by Friday, October 19th. If you have served as a host family in the past and would like to specifically request that a player/players be assigned to your family again this season, please include that in your reply. Host opportunities are limited and will be designated on a first come-first served basis.
Thanks in advance for helping to make this program a huge success again this season.
